Fred Magdoff is Professor Emeritus in Plant and Soil Science at the University of Vermont and Adjunct Professor of crops and soils at Cornell University. He's also an expert on food and human health and a director of the Monthly Review Foundation.
With co-author John Bellamy Foster, his most recent book is titled, "The Great Financial Crisis: Causes and Consequences."
Current world and national issues will be discussed, including the ongoing financial crisis and year one under Obama.
John Carten is a private attorney with extensive legal experience.
After he acted on behalf of Sun Belt Water, Inc., the Governments of Canada and British Columbia attacked him, his law practice, and personal well-being for trying to expose the misconduct of government lawyers and judges. Bogus criminal charges were filed against him, yet he was never disbarred or suspended.
At issue is the water war between Canada and America involving powerful insiders trying to make billions through illegal investments in the bulk water exporting business.
Carten's personal experiences will be discussed.
Robert McChesney is a leading media scholar, critic, activist, and the nation's most prominent researcher and writer on US media history, its policy and practice. He's also University of Illinois Research Professor in the Institute of Communications Research and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
McChesney is a frequent speaker, prolific writer and author of numerous books on the media, including his latest and topic for this program, "The Death and Life of American Journalism: The Media Revolution That Will Begin the World Again."
Bob Chapman is a longtime market professional who for over 40 years has written articles and analysis on business, finance, economics, and politics and is currently the owner and editor of The International Forecaster, "a compendium of information on business, finance, economics, and social and political issues worldwide."
Chapman's outlook for 2010 will be discussed.

Michael Parenti is an internationally known political scientist and award-winner author and lecturer. His many books include Democracy for the Few, Superpatriotism, and his latest titled, "God and His Demons" on the dark side of religion.
